| Dr. Robert S. Fishel is the
founder of Florida Electrophysiology Associates. Dr. Fishel was born
in New York City and grew up in lower Manhattan. He attended college
at Cornell University and subsequently attended medical school at New York
University School of Medicine. Following medical school, he
performed his residency in Internal Medicine at The University of Michigan
Medical Center in Ann Arbor. It was during residency the Dr. Fishel
first developed an interest in cardiology and specifically cardiac
arrhythmias. Following residency, Dr. Fishel received cardiology
training at Emory University Medical Center in Atlanta. Following
completion of general cardiology fellowship at Emory, Dr. Fishel stayed at
Emory and completed a comprehensive fellowship in cardiac
electrophysiology. His mentor at Emory was Dr. Jonathan Langberg,
the developer of catheter ablations and the first physician to have ever
performed a radiofrequency catheter ablation. After fellowship, Dr.
Fishel moved to South Florida. Dr. Fishel has performed over 5000
catheter ablations in his career and implanted over 1500
defibrillators. Outside of medicine Dr. Fishel's interests include
computers, aviation, science and technology, mountain biking, race car driving and
